I recently ordered 4 rolls from here via Skip. I usually curb expectations a bit for delivery food wherever it's from, but this sushi was delicious. I imagine it may be better still if eaten in-restaurant, what with being fresher. Best sushi I've had in Winnipeg so far. Also very affordable compared to other places.

Always down for Wakoya. I'm a little sensitive with 비린내 but I've never had a problem with the fish served here. Their 순두부찌개 is also really good to get with a donburi or chirashi. The only thing of note is, I feel like the sunomono salad sauce recipe has changed but it's not detrimental to the taste.

Good prices for amount and quality of food, especially lunch time specials. Good place to sit down and catch up with some friends. Similar to Naru next door but more of a friendly, chill atmosphere. Would go again for lunchtime sushi

One of my favourite place in the city to get some sushi, also on the plus side they serve excellent Korean food to boot. One of my favourite items has to be their Korean style chicken wings. Atmosphere in the restaurant is very easy going, service can be a but slow at times especially if they're really busy. Overall very good restaurant.

The Korean food is so good here! BEST bulgogi in the city! I’ve been to South Korea and even the bulgogi there can’t beat Wakoya’s! My boyfriend and I’s favourite restaurant in Winnipeg!

I was surprised at how much food was included in my Bento box! I couldn't even finish it; although I really wanted to because it was so delicious. For $20 I got two rolls, a korean dish, a salad and tempura! The restaurant itself was very nice, I think they recently renovated because it looked very modern and hip. A great place to eat in groups as the tables can be easily reconfigured to allow larger parties to sit together.

Wakoya is turning out to be a front runner for my wife and I when it comes to sushi. We have never been let down here, and the service is always very good! I have had 0 issues with the sushi and tempura, and I'm definitely going to dive into the Korean food one of these days.

As a 1st time visitor to Winnipeg and being from Vancouver, we were looking for a good Bento box for lunch. As recommended from a local shop owner, we made our way to WAKOYA SUSHI. After deciding on what to have, we waited for our meal to show up. Miso soup was was promptly brought to us and very tasty. Very fresh ingredients as the green onions were firm and flavorful as the rest of the soup was too. Shortly after we finished our soup, my Bulgogi Bento arrived. As you can see in my photo, it was very satisfying. Everything in the Bento was excellent. Service was very good, our meal was good and the prices were good. Next time I'm in Winnipeg you find me here either for lunch or dinner.

It's okay that your customers will be late for a few minutes for the pickup, we won't forget our orders, and our pickups will not eat themselves either. No need for extra calling and questioning the reasons why being late. Overall the dishes were good as always.

Wakoya Sushi is a Japanese sushi restaurant located in the heart of Osborne Village, serving a fantastic selection of Japanese-inspired appetizers, meals and sushi rolls. The menu is extensive and nicely displayed. They have an excellent selection of vegetarian rolls to choose from, which I loved. Their rolls are always fresh and tasty and beautifully presented on the plate. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, modern and chic, from the wood-grain tables and booths to the simple and beautiful artwork hanging on the walls to the colour scheme. It was very cozy, comfortable and welcoming. The service is friendly and professional. Love Wakoya Sushi! The only reason I don't eat here more often is because it can be challenging and frustrating to get there for dinner in rush hour traffic, as I do not live in the area. Other than that, great restaurant!

Good food, very nice service and very accustomed to your food allergies, or sensitivities, just let them know ahead of time and they will adapt what they can. For sure you can find gluten free and diary-free stuff.

Friendly staff and the food is delicious. I go here once or twice a month if I can! I usually get one of the lunch combos. You get a few pieces of sushi, tempura, and miso soup. Absolutely amazing and for the price it is wonderful. Usually around 13 or 14 dollars for a big, healthy lunch.

I just had lunch here. We waited 30min to get a servant to ask us about our order. No one refilled our water and wait was too long. Food quality is good and clean. Not my favorite in the city.

Great sushi for mid-range pricing. I live in the area and this place is my go-to for sushi. Menu isn't complicated and they're good at what they do. Less expensive than Naru or Wasabi but quality nonetheless.

The combos are reasonably priced and are a perfect portion. We both ordered a combo and an appetizer and we honestly found it to be too much food. The food is delicious!

The crab mango roll is excellent. Eel wasn't eel-ey though. Calamari roll mostly had shrimp tempura in it. Overall it was a good meal.

The pork katsu was tasty but shouldn't have had so much sauce on it, also it wasn't super tender. The takoyaki was interesting in flavour but not much octopus. It was an ok dinner but not remarkable.

The food is amazing, the speciality rolls are great. I feel bad for the one server that works there and runs around making sure all the tables are taken care of. We love this sushi! Hopefully they get more staff though.

Can't love this place enough. Excellent sushi, casual yet classy vibe, great ambient music that's not loud or overbearing, it's always very clean, and they let you stay and chat for as long as you like. Great value, too!

Staffs are really nice, we went there on Sat afternoon, not much people around Osborne area now, so quiet... lots of store had close down for a while. The food was OK, 7out of 10, fast service but the portion was pretty small, not enough for a man, not too easy to find parking, just lucky to get a closer one to the restaurant. The other restaurant around Osborne opens pretty late, so we end up going to wakoya for lunch.

Pictures of the speciality rolls on the menu are extremely misleading. What you see is NOT what you get. Rolls are significantly smaller than pictures suggest with almost no artistic presentation as you would expect to see when ordering a more premium priced roll.
