Loved the food here. It was very filling. I was not expecting to get 3 perfectly poached eggs and a large amount of smoked salmon. I highly recommend the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, get it with the home fries fried twice! They are on coffee refill all the time, it was really good service. It did take a long time, maybe 20+ mins for us to get a seat. They only have a few outdoor tables and from the looks of it, a lot of frequent customers who enjoy being there sipping coffee. I recommend trying this diner but if you're on a time crunch just take into consideration it may take some time to get a table.

Dined outdoors. Had liver and onions with hashbrowns and vegetables. Excellent. Mum had senior portion. Perfect with salad and tea included. Very cost efficient. Lovely server named Fran

My in-laws decided to spring a surprise invitation to the West End diner on us as they have been regulars for years and have wanted to return now the city's COVID restrictions are relaxing as more and more are fully vaccinated. The soup of the day was Beef & Barley and it was delicious. Hearty and warming. Exactly what I wanted out of my soup. My partner had the fettuccini alfredo and I had the hot turkey sandwich. The portion sizes here are the best part hands down. They fill up your plate and takeaway is almost expected! The biggest drawback was the prices for the lunch/dinner menu. It seems COVID has been hard on everyone and simple meals have gone up to almost 15+ dollars a plate for some items. The breakfast menu is still consistently affordable though so I would recommend for breakfast! All-in-all we will be returning as usual but maybe a bit less frequently as the price raises have made it a bit more difficult. Please consider trying this West End staple!

The West End Diner has been a hangout for Mom and her friends for 5 years. Now that she has passed away we are continuing the tradition. Friendly and fast service, the Diner offers food for every palette. Nothing else like it in West Hamilton!

Had a very OK experience here. The food was spectacular for the price, and most of the staff was very friendly to greet us. The only reason I didn’t give it a five stars is the waitress who was quite rude to our table. We had a couple questions we wanted to clarify with her as she was taking our order, but she gave us a dirty look and didn’t answer it. Had to repeat the question to her until she did, and gave us a very vague response. Other than that this place is great, would definitely come again

Great little diner with extensive menu. Staff are friendly, experienced and competent. Covid screening was quick but thorough, which gave us confidence. I hate to recommend this place for fear that too many people will want to come and I will have trouble getting in, but to be fair, you should give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

The food itself was delicious. I ordered a cheeseburger and had a hard time finishing it. The portioning size and taste really matches the money that you pay. If you are into breakfast joints, this is definitely a place to try.

I have eaten here twice…just finished having fish ‘n chips and it was wonderful! My boyfriend and I were visiting from Montreal and had to return to eat here. What made it even more great was the waitress, Dani. She’s exactly how a waitress should be: sharp, courteous and kind. I hope that this diner knows how lucky they are to have her…

There are a lot of poor reviews mentioning bad service. Although the servers are not the most friendly, it is a diner and I dont go to diners for top notch service. My server today did her job fast and efficiently, and the food was delicious, at a great price point. The bathroom was also immaculate, considering how busy the restaurant was.Been here twice and will be back. Favourite diner in the city.

Great place. Great food. We had the hot beef which was delicious and the gravy was so good. We ordered the chicken parmigiana, it was so huge and the sauce was tasty. I finished the chicken, does that count? We also had the chicken souvlaki, authentic Greek taste.

We eat here all the time. Great place. I get the hit and run and its the perfect amount of food. Just make sure to ask for the deep-fried hashbrowns.

This was my first time at West End Diner and not my last. Simply delicious! My daughter and son-in-law are regulars and now I know why. When my mom and I first walked in I saw four men in the kitchen who looked very experienced and I knew it was going to be good ~ I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting much. I have driven by a million times on my way to Dundas and always thought it looked very inviting but I just don’t know why I never went there. My mother had the liver & onions and I had the pork Schnitzel both large portions and done perfectly. Looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow!

Very good food for reasonable price. Servers are amazing and friendly. Sometimes it's too cold for dine in, but it could just be me. Lol. Overall, 5 stars for a dine in restaurant.

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. If you love places that serve all day breakfast then look no further than the West End Diner! It has an area for outside dining now during the Summer and possibly because of Covid-19 too. I can't say enough about how good the food is here! The menu has so many options to choose from.

Wonderful friendly diner...you can get pretty much anything here. Staff is very efficient and pleasant. Has a seniors and children's menu. Usually busy so sometimes a lineup. It's our local.

My favorite local Diner. Wonderful staff and atmosphere, and food that has kept me coming back for years and years. Been feeding me since high school! Really can't say enough good things about the wonderful people who work here. Friendly and kind waitstaff, and a hardworking kitchen crew pull together for a restaurant with a lot of heart. One of my favorite things about living in the neighborhood. Whitney wouldn't be the same without this place. If you're looking for an affordable meal, but you're not sure what you want they have a great variety of things to choose from and I can't say I've had a bad meal here. Always leave glad that I went.

Great little place with a wide variety of foods for everyone.... maybe too much on the menu. Finally was able to get in after a few visits for there always seems a wait. Portions are big and prices are very reasonable. Serving staff was great.

Love the food and cozy atmosphere. The owner. Seems to be on. Site which adds to the hometown feeling. There’s no wheelchair bathroom and they don’t make desserts for adults but that’s O. K their food makes up for it!!!

Weekend mornings are busy but food as expected of a diner. Food is a bit overpriced but good and freah, and service is quick. I will go back just because it's walking distance and never had bad experience with food and service.

Loved this place before covid and had a craving since they had the best diner breakfast in Hamilton. Ordered breakfast on new years eve and it was prepared to be hot for pick up and remained hot until I brought it home. Cooked perfectly with huge portions and generous extra items (an extra egg for eggs benedict, tons of pemeal, fruit salad container full of fresh melon that was a bonus item!). And a side bag full of condiments that truly make breakfast - tons of ketchup, jam, peanut butter provided. Thank you!

It's our first time in west end dinner but not the last! The Greek family who owns the place will take care of you and for sure will satisfy your appetite. Combination of good quality, generous courses, nice service, big variety and normal prices! Don't forget to try the Greek traditional sweet "baklava"!

UPDATE: Dine-in is open. They value their seniors! What a delicious dish. My tuna sandwich was SO THICK. And I got two side orders and soup/salad for only $9.95. I am returning! Free refills, large menu including a seniors section, comfortable seating, busy but fast service. A Grilled Ham and Cheese and coffee cost $11.41 w tax. WiFi is West End Diner / cogeco1811

Took my Dad here for our first post lockdown lunch date. We were lucky to get a table with the 10 person limit. They were following all proper protocols and everyone was evenly spaced out. My Dad had his favourite-liver and onions with a side of bacon and fries off the seniors menu. Came with a large bowl of beef barley soup and a coffee. I had delicious garlic shrimp with rice and veggies and a garden salad. Our waitress Fiona was awesome. She is the kind of waitress that would make you come back just for the service. It is obvious that she enjoys her job.

I had breakfast at West End Diner on a Saturday morning, it was a little busy but no wait time. I ordered a regular breakfast, the food came fast and was delicious. The portion was just enough for me and not expensive. Overall, West End Dinner would be a good choice for a relaxing morning.

Has the classic diner look with quick service and delicious food. I enjoyed a waffle and eggs benedict with peameal bacon. The waffle was good but nothing special. The eggs benedict were delicious, with a side of fruit and homestyle potatoes. The soft poached eggs were made perfectly, with hollandaise sauce dripping over the egg and bacon. Would definitely recommend if you're craving breakfast good at any hour of the day

I purchased the Hungryman Breakfast and the Chicken Caesar Wrap with Fries. Both meals were finished. My Caesar meal.. the fries were hot, crispy and tasted great. The Wrap was awesome crispy lettuce with hot chicken and Caesar dressing. Oh! So! Good!
