My family went to experience the Sunday Brunch at Urban Diner and we were not disappointed! We ordered 2 of The Classic one with meatloaf and the other with bacon and the Back Bacon Benny. The meatloaf is scrumptiously delicious paired with the scrabbled eggs and the crunch of the potatoes..omg so yummy!!! Oh I can't forget about the homemade fruit jam to spread over the sourdough toast! Bursting with fruity flavors yum! BUT the Back Bacon Benny was made perfectly soft yolk bursting over the back bacon was so flavorful!! A must to visit again!!

Haven't been to Urban Diner in years. It's great to be able to get breakfast until 3 p.m. Enjoyed my Eggs Benny and hash browns sprinkled with green onions. The teenager gave a thumbs up to the burger and shoestring fries. Too stuffed to try dessert.

This is a lovely little diner with fast, friendly staff, a decently varied menu and a pretty neat location. Their prices are good, especially for a citywide infamous diner, and the portions are AMAZING! My only qualm is, unfortunately, with their famous meatloaf; if you're not necessarily a meatloaf lover (like myself), then you might not enjoy some of their menu options. Their meatloaf is very well seasoned and has a very prominent taste that stands out from everything else that they serve (in a good way, in my opinion). It works well with some dishes, if it's the main ingredient (like with their 'Mom's Meatloaf' sandwich), but paired along with other ingredients, in dishes like their 'Breakfast Burger', it can be very overwhelming. The 'Breakfast Burger' sandwich consists of: Ham, crispy bacon, meatloaf, fried egg, cheddar and roasted red pepper aioli. However, despite all of the lovely ingredients listed above, the only thing I found myself tasting was the meatloaf; it definitely wasn't a bad taste, but again, if you're not a big meatloaf lover, menu options with, or starring their meatloaf probably won't be a great experience for you. That's honestly the only thing that kept me from rating this place five stars, because other than that, this really is an awesome joint to stop by for breakfast/brunch/lunch. I hope my review can help someone who's dropping by there for the first time!

Meatloaf breakfast sandwich is awesome. that is if they don't accidentally overload it with the herbs. I ordered it often and it was amazing. then took family in town there for breakfast one morning a long time ago and swore by the sandwich. So Step Dad orders one too. I immediately noticed the herbs were triple what they usually were. pretty sure my step dad didn't even finish it. he never complained but I knew why. Stick to the recipe and it's delicious.

Service is amazing!..food is really good, I had the fish and chips really tasty and not dry the portion was really good too very generous on the fries perfectly cooked and seasoned I would definitely comeback and highly recommend this place.. and parking space was ample and free...

Great diner with great food. I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food. The service was friendly and courteous. The ambiance is great with the restaurant being clean and well lit as is the washroom. Came as a group of 6 and the service level was great. I have had lots of items from the menu and the food is tasty and served hot. The meatloaf sandwich or meal is delicious. Just good diner fare. The deserts are awesome all made in house. They have this cheesecake chocolate ball that is awesome. I will keep coming back again and again as I have always enjoyed the experience and food.

Urban Diner was delightful! They were really good with following COVID guidelines and had a very cute outdoor seating area. Service was great and the food was delicious. Had the cream o’ mushroom soup and the rueben sandwich. It has to be the best rueben sandwich I have had in awhile! The clubhouse sandwich had a great sweet and salty combination with crispy fries! Definitely would go again!

Stopped in for brunch this morning!! Ordered the Diner Hash great brisket, potatoes, caramelized onions, poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. A real feast. Love the chewy sourdough toast. The special salmon omelette was delicious as well. What a fitting Sunday meal on a sunny morning 😎And yes the homemade jam so fruit, two thumbs up. As well great friendly service!

The concept of a diner is always cool. The menu reflects this perfectly with such items as mac and cheese or meatloaf. I believe all items are available all day. So if you feel like a classic breakfast at 4pm, go for it.

Amazing breakfast place. Staff is very friendly. The patio. In the back is perfect because it is quiet back there. Also, you can go for a nice walk after because it's close to the River Valley.

Great place for a quick bite or a larger meal. Nice smaller menu where everything is delicious . Good specials and definetly try the meatload sandwhich...very generous portion for the price. Great gravy and sides. Fun little spot in need of an update but also part of it's charm. Definetly recommend checking out with a few people in tow.

Cute little dinner with outdoor dining. Waitress was friendly and the food was fairly quick. Had the Reuben sandwich and it was delicious! Fries were nice and crunchy and the gravy was really good. Awesome little diner!

By far one of my favourite restaurants in Edmonton. The food is underrated; all breakfast items are 10/10. The frittata, breakfast burger, I vouch for them all. I had the Huevos the other week, and it was huge and delectable. The Rueben sandwich is one of the best I've ever had, and I've ordered it ten times, and it comes out the exact same - perfect. The Chef salad is delicious, and I highly recommend adding schnitzel to it if it's available. Currently, it's dinner time, and I know for August, you've cut your hours to cope with the lack of staff. I wanted to leave an outstanding review to remind MGMT that your business is appreciated and missed. I hope to join you guys for dinner soon!

What a great experience we had yesterday. The food and service was excellent. The background music was subtle and easy listening and not blaring like Earls and Brewster’s is. At least we were able to talk without the blare. Great place to go. And very reasonable as well.

There is not much Diner restaurants in Edmonton so this is a good place to go to and the food is excellent. The service are friendly although a few visits the waitress ignore you that I have to ask them to refill my drinks. It seems there are pies being served here. I like the breakfast burger as seen in Food Network show "You Gotta Eat Here!" I always wanted to try their quiche or other items in the menu but I always ordered Breakfast burger. Parking space is very limited so you better hope you will get a parking space in front of the restaurant or else you will have to park a bit further and I do not recommend parking park space beside MEC as it is expensive. So maybe drive a small vehicle as you are likely to find a space.

The urban diner is a gem in Edmonton's crown. I had a terrible choice to make. Do I choose the meatloaf sandwich or do I choose the mac and cheese? A terrible dilemma to be sure. The server allowed me to have the kids size of mac and cheese so I can have the meatloaf. She also suggested that I order the meatloaf dinner so I could share with my mom. Both were amazing. The mac and cheese is sooooooo cheesy and the meatloaf was savory and delicious.

Great food at a affordable price. Parking can sometimes be tricky to find but it isn't terrible because you can usually just go across the street. Eggs Benny is fantastic with their in house hollandaise sauce.

I often come to Urban Diner Sunday mornings with my mother. The atmosphere is friendly as is the service. The food never disappoints. The menu offers many options for big and small appetites. My mom tries something different each visit, I like the Eggs Benedict and have stubbornly stuck with it. I do get a taste of what ever my mom has and vow to order it next time. Prices are on the high side but the overall experience is worth the price. Parking is sometimes a problem, in warmer weather we walk, Urban Diner is only a few blocks from home. I recommend Urban Diner for both families, couples, and individuals.

I met with friends for brunch. They've really worked on making sure they're following Alberta Health guidelines: hand sanitizer, tables are kept apart, masks on the staff, etc. It hasn't affected the food though. My hash was delicious and plentiful. The Hollandaise sauce was spot on, and the fresh preserves for my slice of marble rye toast were a perfect accompaniment. Highly recommended. They don't take reservations though, so it's first come first served.

another one of those hidden gems in Edmonton. The daily quiche is such a smart idea. i love this cozy little restaurant, reminds me of my dads restaurant when i was growing up. so great! highly Recommend!

I turned up late to dine with my family who had already ordered It was not the first time dining here for them, just me. I had no idea they closed at 8pm. The poor server who looked after us was there till we left at 9.30pm. She was incredibly patient and gracious. We all devoured our meals. I had the chicken burger and fries! Fab :)

I been going to the Urban Diner now for 13 years. The food is Amazing and the quality has not changed. It's not too often you can find a restaurant that everything on its menu is good if not excellent! Prices are relatively normal keeping up with the higher wages. Atmosphere very relaxed and chill. In 13 years I have never walked away hungry or not completely satisfied I went out to dine at the Urban Diner well worth the money $$$.

I had the Bennie eggs with veggie patty and my friend had the Mac n cheese. Eggs were good, veggie patty no taste, hash browns were so so. Mac n cheese not cheesy enough. Nice atmosphere but quality of food needs to improve. I love supporting private over chains but again value for quality has to be there.

Hot spot for brunch! Good menu selection of 'the usual' bacon, eggs, toast. They also have breakfast sandwiches, skillets, breakfast burgers, omelettes, and other similar items. Tea and coffee as well as alcohol options, (Mimosa!) make your morning just as you like it! Good quality food, if you have never been you are missing out.

I have been going to Urban Diner for years, and it has always been an exceptional experience! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the food is reasonably priced and the portions are large. Fantastic casual fare at very reasonable prices and very generous portions. Great place to get your fill of comfort food in a very cozy setting. One of our favorite places to eat out. Only downside is parking can be in short supply. The servers are very friendly and welcoming however when it gets busier prepare for a bit if a wait. Overall I highly recommend this place.

Good portion size on the classic breakfast, for a reasonable price. They have a variety of options available (sweet vs. savoury) and were able to accommodate my gluten-free friend. Service was speedy. My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer a better coffee (maybe upgrade to locally roasted beans).

My favorite thing about this place is that they have gluten free buns for burgers. Might sound like not much but I can count on half a hand how many places do that and could you imagine YOUR life without plenty of full, bunned burgs? On top of that most of their menu caters to gluten free and their fries are probably the best I've ever had. They taste amazing cold, warm, hot- probably even covered in mud. Cute lil diner vibes, sweet waitress. What more can you ask for?

Great place to eat at with either friends, family or a date. The food is amazing and the service was pretty quick based on how many people were inside at the time. The iced tea is some housemade beverage and it was amazing as well. Been to both locations and they are both equally great. Will most definitely be coming back to either place again in the future.

Absolutely adore this little place ! My hub and I have been looking for a nice diner like this since we moved to Edmonton and in our opinion this is perfect. We were lucky enough to go there on a non busy day when it was really warm outside so we sat on the patio , which is so so lovely and oriented well. The menu is simple enough but the food was delicious and exactly what we were looking for! Grilled cheese & clubhouse were both awesome. The waitress was great too . Can't wait to come back!

Such a cool little restaurant. The atmosphere is that of a small town. The servers are very personable and knowledgeable about the menu items. A great place to meet a friend, have dessert and a coffee in there is no crazy loud music, so conversation is easy. This has become one of my favorite places!

Amazing. My boyfriend and I came here for my sister's birthday lunch. I ordered the Reuben with tomato soup and it was phenomenal. My boyfriend ordered the Beef Dip and in his words, it was "incredible". He ordered a side of poutine with it and it filled 3/4 of his plate. Very good value for the quantity they give you. We will definitely be back.

Best place for "home cooked" meal. I've enjoyed everything I've tried there (especially the mac'n cheese and cream of vegetable soup). Such a chill vibe and reasonably priced place. Staff are always friendly and very informative of the menu! One of my favorite stops in Edmonton!
