You know, it is not every day you walk into a place and get the opportunity to order something that has become a me me from Kitchen Nightmares, but here you can. Grilled Lettuce! (The full episode is on youtube) Over all the food is mostly just fine, and they seem to have jacked the prices from decent value to LOL YOU ARE KIDDING ME. Service was pretty good once she realized we were not their for a timed event.

It's a cute restaurant in the neighborhood that the quality of food and nice services are guaranteed. It's got that unique local friendliness. All staff were super friendly and nice including those who answered our phone, who sat us and who served us. We were very happy about the menu our server Rick recommended and services he provided. I am pregnant and wanted to have some nice virgin cocktail other than mojito and he offered sangria that is substituted with pomegranate juice and oh boy it was delicious!! Also, all the food we ordered were delicious. You must try their mushroom pizza. The taste of the fresh ingredients with a touch of truffle oil was great. The pate and halibut fish cake were also great. They have a nicely set up patio that we want to try next time. We originally went there to sit in their patio but we decided to stay inside since the inside set up was also very romantic and came with more comfy chairs.

We are quite glad that this place has re opened now with the third wave of the pandemic over. We once again had an excellent dining experience at Glass Monkey. This place exemplifies both high quality ingredients of European trattoria-styling while still maintaining a laid back Canadian feel of a local pub eatery. Gastropub is more than apt a term to describe this joint! From the moment the usher welcomed us in there was a warm and bustling atmosphere in the restaurant. Rick carried us through the menu items and Specials with enthusiasm and efficiency, such as any person with intimate of the knowledge of the menu should have, recommending his favourites and highlighting popular items. He was very professional and entertaining. We also received warm welcomes and conversation from Janine. Both the patio and inside tables were excellent options.

Went tonight for our 10th wedding anniversary - was packed and very loud - service was good but the noise level made it difficult to hear and carry on a conversation even sitting right next to each other. Noticed several staff were either not wearing masks or had their masks not fully covering their nose/mouth, which concerned us considering how packed the place was. Also our server kept standing really close to us which made us quite uncomfortable. We enjoyed our appetizers (cheese curds and spring rolls) and they have a large drink menu. Our large plates were mediocre at best. I had the pork cheeks special and my hubby the salmon. It was okay but nothing special. While tender I found the pork cheeks had a lot of gristle and I wasn’t personally a fan of the flavour. There was one single piece of broccoli, 3 pieces of meat and one tiny scoop of mashed potatoes and the whole thing was drowning in gravy. Hubby found the salmon okay but very bland. Overall the experience was fine - we like to support local restaurants especially in todays economy, but for the prices, portion sizes, and mediocre food, the value isn’t there for us and I don’t think we’ll bother going back in the future.

Amazing service. From the greeting at the door until we paid our bill, everyone was very friendly and attentive. They came to the table the perfect amount of times and never interrupted our evening. Food was delicious and the drink selection is huge! Will definitely go back again. Too bad its so far from my house or I might be there every weekend!

Great wine selection and super friendly staff. Great food. I ordered their lamb shank and it was so really good, lamb was juicy and had amazing flavors. Highly recommend this place. Went there again on Wednesday and this time I had half price wings and ordered the Fish Entree. Totally enjoyed my food. Amazing experience. Staff is so friendly and polite makes you feel so welcomed at this place.

Full disclosure - I work in the same strip as Glass Monkey but yesterday was my first time ordering. The food was DELICIOUS! I'm not usually a take out person (as I find the food just isn't as tasty) but the Chicken Ascona was unbelievably fresh and flavorful. You will not regret this food! I will definitely order again and cannot wait to check out their wine selection in person! Thank you!

Came here with a group of 7, of all the places in Edmonton that I have visited, this restaruant comes in as number 1. The dining experience was a culinary treat, from the appetizers, main courses, to the desserts, we walked away saying wow. The service was top notch, the owner took the time to explain the dishes and he let us sample a few after dinner drinks, before purchasing. Highly recommend this restaurant. They have a nice selection beers and wines.

Very nice bar and restaurant. Wednesday is half price wing day. They got many nice beer selection. Good for watching sport game, and saw the other group had even a birthday party. Definitely go back when I need a nice place for my company:)

What a lovely experience we had tonight. Today was supposed to be our wedding day but we postponed because of Covid. We decided to go for dinner and chose the Glass Monkey on a recommendation from my parents. The food was fantastic, everything was delicious, but the service was 10 star. Our server Rick was amazing, funny, personable and ON IT...we wanted, we needed, we got. No wait, everything anticipated and there in minutes. The manager Janine was so very lovely too. She came and said hello, chatted about our situation and I honestly felt like at was talking to a sympathetic friend. We were comped a lovely dessert with port and are leaving feeling like today wasn't such a disappointing day after all. Thank you Rick, Janine and all the staff at the Glass Monkey. I had the beet salad. This was very tasty. I could tell the beets were from the garden because they had a nice taste. One thing i didn't like was they used candies as lighting so it was a bit dark inside

The patio was full but it is still nice inside. We started with the baked Brie and then tried their award winning Pappardelle. Turns out both were great choices! The wine list is extensive with lots of interesting choices by-the-glass.

If you are truly Korean foodie, you’d 100% appreciate the food and services from this place. The owner put lots of effort in this restaurant. The portion is very decent with the price, and if you like eat healthy, this is the place for you. I like their soup, and one of their rice beverage. You gotta try it, it is soooo delicious, I wish they can sell their rice drink in bottles.

I came across this restaurant recently by chance. Overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant has a friendly vibe and it’s good for hangouts. The food was just decent. I tried their salmon. It was okay and the vegetables were definitely fresh. However, I expected more for the price - both in terms of the quantity of quality of the salmon

Blow you away Food & Drinks! They made the Spicy Wonton noodle bowl into a veggie dish for us; extremely delicious! The focaccia bread was free and paired perfectly with it so ask for that. Really enjoyed the onion cakes too, ended up ordering a seconding course. If you like Old Fashions, theirs was fantastic. Loved the huge selection of their wines and some tasty beer too 🍺 The owner and staff were so friendly and attentive, coming back 110%

Great beer and wine selection . Server was attentive and helpful. Went on Wednesday which was pizza special. Between the group of four we had all three types of pizza. All were really good. Also had the smoked salmon spread which went over great. The only issue we had was partially our fault and that was it was pizza special night and we didn't get the 1/2 price discount. We never checked before we got home. Id still go back any time. Enjoyed the evening.

This is a pleasant neighborhood gastro pub, however I feel their reach exceeds their grasp. They present their menu as a cross between casual and fine dining, but their actual food leaves much to be desired. I had their burger, which, though it was good, for the price and the attempt at more upscale dining experience lacked any thing to set it apart from more common dining experiences or even chain restaurants.

Amazing experience! Such excellent service. We truly felt like we were being treated like lovely celebrities (and we are most definitely not)!!! Loved the local, neighbourhood restaurant vibe and the delicious food. They even ran to quickly purchase an ingredient they don’t normally carry in order to create a modified version of one of their appetizers for me (since I have a food sensitivity). What a lovely and uneexpected surprise! We will most definitely be returning.... often!

Fantastic atmosphere, professional and friendly waiter. I had the burger, which is ground fresh, in house (no fillers) and ordered it medium rare. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The missus tried the Mac and cheese with duck, which was also incredible. Very extensive beer and wine list here as well. Highly recommend this place for dinner or late lunch.

My fiancé and I wanted to try something new and I’m SO glad we did! Great beer selection, and phenomenal food! It was the best salmon I’ve ever ordered in a restaurant (and I’m picky with salmon) and the pizza was amazing. At the end of our meal the owner or manager, not sure what his exact title was, struck up a conversation and ended our night off perfectly. He was very genuine and was great to talk to. Will definitely be going back!

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. We shared appys and a meat and cheese board. The selection was perfect. The wine list is extensive. The staff were so attentive and professional yet very personal. The waitress even brought us over Champagne to help us celebrate. Overall a wonderful atmosphere and we will def be back! Every time I come, I'm always greeted with such warmth from everyone! The food is unreal and always worth getting the Bread Pudding! The Drinks are always world class. Glass Monkey is definitely a restaurant to take a date or somewhere to watch the game in nice relaxed environment

Everything here is amazing!! The menu has alot of selection and they always have unique feature dishes to choose from as well. Its a smaller restaurant with a more personal feel, they do have a patio too!! A great wine list is also a huge plus.

Very nice hole in the wall kind of place. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Probably the best steak I have had in Edmonton and it was their Friday night special. The bread pudding was fantastic and had a creme brule feel to it. I would visit here again.

I was very excited to try this place after hearing so much about it. I was, however, disappointed. While the ambiance and the service in the restaurant were both excellent, the food was nothing to write home about-- small in size and shockingly expensive. If I put down $75.00 for a meal for two, I want to leave either with a memory of an unforgettable dish or with a full belly, preferably both. After leaving the Glass Monkey I left hungry-- despite paying double what I usually do for a night out-- and with no "wow" experience. That being said, their bread pudding is delicious. Overall, I will not be coming back unless guests to my house like gastronomical things, small food portions, and high prices.

This place is fantastic. I've been coming back as often as I can after my boyfriend and I first stumbled upon it in our neighborhood. The manager, Rob, is so awesome! I've had nearly everything on the menu now and not one item has disappointed. Don't forget they have half price bottles of wine on Monday's! :) If you can....save room for the bread pudding. Seriously. You will thank me!

Great gastropub. Good selection of tap beers, mostly craft brews. The menu is not extensive but what they do prepare is excellent. They also have appie and main specials. I had a traditional shrimp cocktail (special) and a duck leg confit (also special) - delicious. Co-diner had the salmon filet and thought it was great too. This is not a cheap place to dine and drink but it is definitely a good special occasion place. Call in for reservations as the place isn't that big and does pack up quickly. Service was attentive but left us plenty of space.

One of my regular spots within a short drive from home. Once inside you forget you're in a strip mall and transport yourself to the ranks of upscale pubs as you'd expect in Manhattan not Edmonton. Menu is gastro-pub style and the daily specials usually include something spicy from the Asian-inspired chefs. A good wine list and friendly well-trained wait staff add to a pleasant meal out. Look forward to the patio in season although the interior decor is well-designed and inviting.

Absolutely love this special place in southish Edmonton - the hostess is incredible, servers friendly and not intrusive - always offer great suggestions. We leave full and happy - can't ask for anything more. We love the snacks to start (5 for 2 of us :) but we love food!). Followed by small or large plates depending on how hungry we are (any of the menu options we have tried have been excellent). We have often shared a single large plate - rarely have room for dessert but the bread pudding is rich and delicious.

First of all the atmosphere takes you in no matter what kind of mood that you walked in with. Secondly one glance of the outside patio and you know your at the right place to relax and have a great time. 3rd and most important next to the food is the service. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and what food could be paired well with others, and also about the history of the business that was there before which the menu has some items influenced by it. I had some appetizers to start followed by the Burger which is flame broiled to your liking loaded with back bacon fresh local pickles and all the fixings. I just had to have poutine as a side dish since it was the weekend and absolutely no regrets. It was done right with cheese curds and fresh gravy. The wine menu of red and white is extensive but not overwhelming. I found this place by accident now you dont have to. What a wonderful treat. All places need to take a page out of the Glass Monkey's book of how to do things right! Well done, just can't say enough.

Food here is amazing. The owner obviously takes pride in what he does and it shows. The atmosphere is casual fine dining and has tv screens to watch sports. Also the seating is very comfortable. Great place to go with the family, friends, or a first date. Service has always been great and informative. The owner supports the community by donating gift cards for a large variety of events including sports teams and gay pride. This place is truly remarkable and everyone in. Edmonton should eat here at least once. Order a charcuterie board as an appetizer and you won't be disappointed.

A very relaxed atmosphere in this little gastropub. We were lucky enough to be seated by the owner. He was kind and considerate to our every preference. The food was delightful in combination with the wines. I can recommend the 5 for $20 snack menu selection to start -- the flank steak with ginger aioli was our favourite. For the larger dishes, the grilled portobello with white truffle oil was excellent. Warm chocolate cake for desert did not disappoint. As simple as it sounds, it delivers. The cake was thick with chocolate fudge but the whipped cream and blackberries balanced it out. Since we moved tables during the meal, the owner gave us complimentary port wine with our desert. An excellent experience all around.

I am so craving The Glass Monkey during the Covid challenges. Rob and his family make each and every guest like they are long lost friends, and it shows in their food. I'm looking forward to revisting the restaurant. ( But in the meantime, order their Ukrainian food on Wednesday night take out.

Any of their smoked meats are awesome as they smoke them themselves. A good selection of foods to go with wines but would have liked a better selection of wines that were available by the glass. No questions they will have a repeat visit from us.

I've been here a few times now and I have to be honest. The place is improving from an already high-set bar. It is north american meets a few spices from India. The flavour profiles are delightful. We've tried many items on the menu. In my opinion grab the lamb dish of the night and you'll be in seventh food heaven. The other dishes will still get you into food heaven's gates. Tonight there was no lamb. I still found found that would give lembas a run for its money. The butter chicken at The Glass Monkey just blew my mind. Why? Oddly the rice was the star of the dish. Jasmine rice so floral and bright with a hint of earthy as if jasmine, basmati, and jasmine flowers could co exist with lemon, salt, and butter to form perfection. The naan was better than Haweli's and the butter chicken itself was amazing.
