Ordered some hotdogs for takeout on the weekend. I walked in and was immediately greeted. I could hear our order being prepared, and the "yes, chef!" coming from the kitchen gave me great peace of mind that this isn't your typical fast food place. There were a few customers sitting inside (we've just opened up indoor dining recently), and about 8 arcade games lined the wall as you walked in. The kiddos would definitely enjoy those! We ordered the PB&J, and the Sumo. Both were so deliciously different from your average hotdog. Was disappointed to learn that there was no Chicago Dog. WHAT!? We also ordered a side of fries, and well let me tell you they were the first to be eaten! Hand cut fries, perfectly seasoned, and was the perfect side for our dogs. The New Brunswicker in me wants to go back just to get more of those fries!

This is the best dog you will ever have. Got the abomb with the bacon wrapped dog. Just amazing. Wife got cheetah dog and we shared T-rings. Highly recommend

For hotdogs, it doesn't get any better. The meat is high quality as are the fresh buns. The flavour combinations are interesting. It is on the pricy side for sure but it is pretty good.

I will miss this location. I hope the new one is just as good if not better. Maybe they should partner with a brewery like Lil Empire did with Annex.

Loved this place. Great friendly service, very cool arcade games. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The interior design created an intriguing, unique and amicable atmosphere. A must try if you're in Calgary!

I like the novelty of a gourmet hot dog, and everything here tastes quite clean and well prepared. I had their classic "Tubby Dog" which comes with chili and a cheese sauce on top. The portion of chili was pretty generous and is above average. The bun itself however was pathetic and turned mushy very quickly making it impossible to eat in your hand. Price is a little expensive considering the bun and hot dog itself is only slightly better than average. Overall a good place for a quick and filling meal.

We did patio (still all that's allowed) ... I feel like it's kind of perfect for what it is. Not like you would hang around for awhile having drinks or anything but to stop by have a bite and continue down 17th .. it's perfect! I like the window system the whole thing just feels so fun and casual. Great hot dogs too! So fun! Person working was nice too. I like that they call your order by name.

Tubby Dog the original calgary staple! They make great dogs period. Try the Captains Dog for the more adventurous (includes PB&J and captain crunch cereal on the dog) do not knock it till you try it! Or be lame and get ketchup and mustard like you have no spine. My favorite is the Cheetah (saurkraut, cheese, mustard). But "The" tubby Dog with (the best Chilli dog you can get north of the border) I excellent too. Bring your proof of vaccination to dine in their retro themed dining room with an excellent selection of choice arcade games!

First time. Tasty chili. Poutine was a little heavy on the cheese (need better fries to cheese ratio) and the gravy wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese much, but it tasted good. Really liked the hot dog. Nice ambiance with old arcade games and pinball machine. Would go back again if in the area.

I always enjoy a trip to yyc with a journey to tubby dog. The only thing I am sad about is that they are not open till like midnight anymore. But I love the beer battered onion rings and the pbandj dog is my favorite!!!

Just wow!!! Tubby Dog puts a modern twist on an otherwise boring, traditional hot dog. Modern and unique offerings of specialty hot dogs that just keeps you craving for more!!! I had their peanut butter and grape jelly with captain crunch hot dog - OMG!!! Best hot dog I've ever had. Who would've imagined that peanut butter and jelly garnished with captain crunch cereal would be so delicious combined with a hot dog!!! Loved it. Retro shop, very calm and casual, great place to just hang out with your friends pounding back some dogs and beer. Staff are super cool and chill, made for a great experience. They also sell t-shirts - super cool.

We enjoyed our hotdogs (Harlo & a make your own) and the service was friendly. What especially made the visit memorable, was the row of vintage arcade games at (most were) 25 cents a game! Playing Street Fighter side by side with my 12 year old... man, that just hit me in the feels big time. Killarney is our new neighbourhood, and we'll definitely make Tubby Dog a regular family treat.

You cannot beat the atmosphere of this nostalgic hot dog joint! Pick one of their crazy creations or build your own. Definitely order the fries, they are hand cut fresh at order and are everything homemade fries should be. While you are there, challenge your friends or family to some video games.

I had the PBJ with Captain Crunch. This combo may seem strange but it's amazingly great. The crunch if the cereal really tops it off. The dogs are a good dog, and really you don't need a side as there is enough food on it's own. We went at lunch and it wasn't busy so we were in and out fairly quick. Next time I must try another one of their creations.

Just had my youngest boy's birthday party here. Absolutely a brilliant place. The kids had a great time. (we divided $20 in credits by all the machines ) This amount was plenty. The staff were great and the food was excellent. A big thanks, John and the crew.

Walked over 2.5km from my hotel to get to this place. It was completely worth it. The A-Bomb Dog was so tasty and messy. Grab lots of serviettes lol. If you’re looking for an inexpensive hot dog experience, this is the place.

Truly one of Calgary's premier specialty dining experiences. When you're craving a steamed meat tube, lubricated with space cheese and studded for your pleasure with a fine dusting of crushed potato chips, no substitute will suffice. Wear your masks and practice social distancing, because TD is also one of the best punk venues in Calgary, and the sooner we beat COVID the sooner we can go back to playing shows at this fine establishment.

I want to personally thank the Tubby Dog for taking a stand and caring about their customer's safety and health in these trying times. I can't recommend them enough. Please note that all the "bad reviews" are coming from disgruntled anti-maskers who conned their friends into coming here and leaving them negativity. Don't be swayed by that non-sense. Tubby Dog is the Absolute BEST and I will love their food forever. Their service is out of this world and their prices are always right. I highly recommend Tubby Dog -- just be a sensible citizen and wear a mask when you visit.

This place is so old school. There are photos of the Adam West's Batman, Lou Ferrigno's Hulk, classic arcades all over. The atmosphere is so eclectic. Oh and of course, the hot dogs are amazing

Soooooooo good!!!!! Me and my family have to stop here every time we make it to Calgary (we’re from Edmonton). Their crazy delicious hot dogs look insane and taste amazing EVERY SINGLE TIME! My favourite is their original Tubby dog, however I’ve also tried some of their more crazy ones like the holiday capn crunch dog and it was also delicious! Tubby dog is a must whenever I get the chance! 🤤👌

Thisbwas my first visit to Tubby Dog and found myself underwhelmed. I ordered the original Tubby Dog and found it to be tasty and not near as greasy as the ingredients might imply, but the onion rings were flavorless and overdone. I may have to try this one again and see if there's somethibg else on the menu that is more satisfying.

This place is a genuine Calgary staple with a delicious, creative menu and awesome atmosphere. SHAME on all of you who are giving them 1 star ratings because you refused to wear a mask in their establishment. It’s a private establishment and none of you are “exempt” from the bylaw that you clearly haven’t even researched. If you’re unwilling to wear a mask during a pandemic then you have no business in anybody’s restaurant. To try and drag down a good company for your own absurd stubbornness and lack of self awareness is a sad and stupid thing to do. Love tubby dog forever.

This place is super dope! Retro feel with arcade games and diner style seating. A must go to if you’re in the area - street parking is pricey around 5 bucks on a weekend but I’d suggest parking close by and ordering your food and eating next to your car! 💫 🌭

I absolutely love this place. The people are friendly and the service is fast, however, this time we were told to order on skip the dishes or door dash for pickup. The product of this was the inability to order the regular size hot dog and instead, ended up with one that was the third of the size. Very disappointing. :(

Tubby dogs restaurant is more than just a hot dog place .. atmosphere and mood is comparable to going back home with all the memories that you hold dear and hope don't change. This old-fashioned and friendly. Place has the most delicious mouth watering. Hot dogs and imaginative selection of toppings from peanut butter to chili. tubby dogs is comparable if not better to the best hot dog places in Chicago! Where . I lived the t biggest part of my youth. the original dedicated owner John is a serious hot dog connoisseur .. he so aspires to remember the quality as opposed to any economic shortcuts! I am looking forward to trying out their taco Tuesdays and having our . Almost annual birthday party for my 65 year old. Brother Gary there in February with balloons and cake and . Friendly upbeat atmosphere... and opening the door to tubby dogs where time seems to stand still. Thank you tubby dogs!

I went there for my birthday yesterday. Had a great time plus the hot dogs were amazing! More people started to come and there wasn’t enough tables for everyone. The place could be much cleaner. Bathrooms weren’t very clean but either then that it was a great experience!

Mostly I’ve gone for burger Wednesday and I have to say they are greasy and delicious! Probably one of the best burgers in town. Unpretentious, simple food, friendly staff, arcade games, slightly ridiculous decor. It’s really great! Oh ya, the hot dogs are really good too.

It's really fun vibes , my kids loved the pinball. I don't really love the veggie dog "not dog" that they use because it has a weird texture. I usually get the captain's dog so it might be better with a savory dog rather that a sweet one. Next time I'll try something else.
